Melbourne: there are never 4WD campers available from/to this city.
Sydney: from Sydney, only the 4WD motorhome with shower and toilet is available.
Our minimum rental period is 21 days. This also applies if you pick up and return in the 4WD camper at the same location, for example when renting from and to Perth. For Perth-Darwin or the other way round, the minimum rental period is 28 days.
Toilet: what models can be/are equipped with a toilet? These are the Landcruiser motorhome, Hilux 2-4 berth, Trailfinder and Pop-up 4WD with slide-out kitchen. Please note that these models can only be rented from Perth, Broome or Darwin.
Hitop 4WD: the only models accepted on Fraser Island are the 2/3 berth Hitop 4WD campers, others are not allowed there so no 4/5 berth 4WD campers!! The Hitops are fully booked up to and including June 2024.
Please check the depot locations on the web page of your desired model. Most 4WD campers are rented from/to Perth, Broome and Darwin. Other cities like Sydney have a limited supply all year.
Wet season: we do not offer 4WD's from December to March from/to Broome, Cairns and Darwin. All unsealed roads in the Top End and the Kimberley are closed in the wet season. All camper depots in Broome and Darwin are closed from 20 December 2022 until the end of March 2023. It makes no sense to request a 4WD camper quote for rental periods beginning or ending in Broome and Darwin during the wet season months.
Please keep in mind that some models of 4WD campers have only a few in the fleet (three or less). We point this out to travelers in a quote but, despite this, many wait a long time. Then, when they finally want to book their desired 4WD camper, we have to disappoint them by telling them that the model in question is already fully booked. After the border closure of almost two years, camper travel in Australia is becoming hugely popular again, so models of which there are only a small number in a fleet are fully booked early.
