Are you a kitesurfing enthusiast? Then Western Australia is an excellent destination for you.
Along the Indian Ocean, there are numerous spots that are perfect for kitesurfing. It is often said to be one of the best kitesurfing regions in the world and for good reason, as Perth is one of the windiest cities in the world. On many days, there’s a strong breeze blowing and from November to March, it's a daily occurrence. This breeze is known as the Fremantle Doctor which arises because the ocean remains cool while land temperatures can soar during these months. Generally, the wind is strongest when temperatures on land reach 30°C or higher. The wind typically picks up after midday and blows into the early evening, peaking in strength between 4.00 and 5.00 PM. Wind speeds are almost always between 30 and 45 kilometers per hour. If you are staying in the city, you can easily combine sightseeing in the morning with an afternoon of kitesurfing.
In addition to Perth, there are also great and beautiful kitesurfing spots in the southwest and all along the coastline heading north up to Exmouth. It goes without saying that practicing your hobby on turquoise waters near white sandy beaches is far from unpleasant. A big advantage is that, outside of Perth, the waters are rarely crowded.
Australia Campers offers various 4WD camper models that can carry or store kitesurfing equipment. These 4WD campers provide space for at least two boards and accompanying gear. If you plan to kitesurf in remote areas during your holiday in Western Australia, you can request a 4WD camper via our request form and mention that you’re looking for a model suitable for transporting kitesurfing gear. If you have not yet visited this website, we highly recommend doing so as a kitesurfer. As you will see, kitesurfing is not only possible in Western Australia but also in many other places along the Australian coast.
